Chantelle Lingerie: An Introduction

October 2, 2006 by Mandolina

Chantelle is a brand that needs no introduction to the true Lingerie-fanatic. For over 100 years (yes, 100!), this French company has been making high quality lingerie. The brand is now available all over the world, and is the favorite of many Hollywood actresses who are looking for comfort and class in their lingerie. Chantelle is not a slow lingerie house: over the years it has evolved to become a modern and hip brand, targetting all ages of women.

On their official website, Chantelle describes their brand as follows:

“For more than 100 years, Chantelle has been dedicated to the art of creating great fitting, high quality intimate apparel, designed to enhance a woman’s beauty and self image.”

The photo’s listed here show what they mean: they want a sophisticated image, a high-quality reputation and they target women who can live that image. Chantelle isn’t trying to be the most sexy brand, they’re all about quality and comfort.

The price? Well, Chantelle is very affordable. With prices starting from about $50 for a bra, they are a lot cheaper than some other brands targetting the same market. Our conclusion? Good quality lingerie for a very reasonable price!

Marie Jo Lingerie: Introduction

October 2, 2006 by Mandolina

The Marie Jo lingerie brand is quite unknown in the United States, and that’s a pity. The only true Marie Jo boutiques can be found in Germany and France, but the brand is being sold outside these two countries, in lingerie stores. The great thing about this European brand is the value for money you get when shopping with Marie Jo. I’ll give some examples of the great stuff they’ve made later on in this introduction.

The brand itself wants to be associated with classy women, who know what they want. On their official website they’ve posted how they see their customers:

“A sober but sophisticated woman who knows that real luxury and quality always have to earn her trust. To the smallest details. She respects tradition but is totally lacking in nostalgia. On the contrary, she is after innovation, looking the future right in the eyes.”

Looking at their designs, they’ve got the targetting right. Sober but luxuriously finished sets, combined with warm yet mature colors. The Marie Jo lingerie brand isn’t trying to re-invent underwear, they’re constantly trying to stick to what they do best: making top quality lingerie for classy women who expect their clothing to be spot on.

You want photo’s? Alright, fair enough, here they come:

All 3 of these photo’s come from Marie Jo’s Autumn/Winter 2006 collection. Prices vary, but usually don’t start below $100. There’s no online shop for Marie Jo lingerie, but I’m sure some boutiques are willing to send out packages all over the globe. For boutique addresses, check out mariejo.com!

Marlies Dekkers Introduction

October 1, 2006 by Mandolina

I think this post from our friends over at Blog-Tique.com is a nice introduction to Marlies Dekkers, a designer who isn’t too famous in the United States just yet:

“Marlies Dekkers is a Dutch lingerie designer and her underwear collections are extremely popular amongst stylish and independent women in The Netherlands and Belgium. The Antwerp Boutique makes half of their profit because of me, I’m sure ;-). Her lingerie might not be too famous in the United States, but you US-chicks are surely missing out on some hot ans spicy underwear, I can tell you!

Marlies DekkersAnyway, why am I such a fan of Marlies Dekkers underwear? You’ll know when you’ve tried them. Seriously, like no other brand in that price category, Marlies Dekkers underwear feels like it’s a perfect fit, like everything’s just right. You won’t need to spend €250 (you can, but you don’t have to) on a top-quality set. Starting from a little over €100 you can’t go wrong. It’s not cheap, but it’s great value for money.

Interested in seeing some examples? Marlies Dekkers’ official website, Marlies Deckers lingerie and swimwear at figleaves, and at MSN shopping.”

Hope you enjoyed that introduction. We’re constantly on the lookout for bargains from Marlies Dekkers’ collection. As soon as we’ve found some, we’ll let you know!
